Banyan Tree Therapy & Consulting aims to ensure clarity and transparency regarding the costs of our services. We prioritize our clients' ability to make well-informed decisions regarding their care with us.

Therapy:
We operate as a private-pay practice at this time. However, if you opt for this arrangement, we can furnish you with the necessary documentation (a "superbill") for submitting to your insurance. Clients are frequently reimbursed for all or part of their therapy services for out-of-network reimbursement. This is determined on a case by case basis with your insurance carrier. Utilizing your out-of-network benefits involves upfront payment to us, submission of documentation to your insurance provider, and subsequent reimbursement from them. Please note, it remains the client's responsibility to communicate with their insurance carrier to ascertain their out-of-network benefits.

Coaching and Consulting:
Coaching and consulting services are not covered by insurance, so are also private-pay.

Credit Card Practices
All clients of Banyan Tree Therapy & Consulting are required to have a major credit card on file. If you plan to use an HSA card, please also provide a backup major credit card to cover any potential shortfall if your HSA funds are exhausted. Your card will be billed the night after your service. You may request a summary of charges at any time.

No Surprises Act
​
As noted above, we are a private-pay practice and do not accept insurance. However, in some circumstances, you may choose to submit claims for out-of-network expenses. The No Surprises Act of 2022 offers protection to individuals with group and individual health plans from unexpected medical bills for most emergency services, non-emergency services provided by out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and out-of-network air ambulance services. It also introduces an independent dispute resolution process to handle payment disagreements between plans and providers, and offers new dispute resolution options for uninsured and self-pay individuals if they receive a bill significantly higher than the good faith estimate provided.

For those with private health insurance, these protections eliminate many common types of surprise bills. If you are uninsured or choose not to use your insurance for a service, you can often obtain a good faith estimate of your care costs before your visit. Should you have any issues with your bill, you may be able to challenge the charges. If you are paying for services out-of-pocket, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate when you join our practice. Cancellation Policy
If you need to change your scheduled appointment, please contact your clinician directly at least 24 hours in advance. You may also reach out to our main office at 412.206.9510, but note that your clinician can better assist you with rescheduling.
A $100 fee will be charged to the credit card on file for cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice.
Please also note:

If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time.

If you join a virtual session from an unsafe location (e.g., while driving or in a public space), your provider may cancel the appointment, and the cancellation fee will be charged.

If you join a virtual session from outside Pennsylvania (due to licensing restrictions), the session will be canceled, and the cancellation fee will be applied.
